Yoga Styles
Bikram Yoga
A style of yoga that is for every body – from someone trying yoga for the first time, to a student who already has an established yoga practice. Bikram Yoga is a beginner-level friendly practice that we never outgrow needing. The ability for progress is indefinite. When approached in the right way and consistently, it restores and maintains the proper function of all organs, systems and joints.
It is a fixed sequence of yoga postures and breathing exercises. Students are provided with a simple and effective set of instructions, suitable to be applied to one’s own body, range of movement and capabilities. And, Claire will help you learn what is the right way to change and heal your body.
Build strength, flexibility & balance … and a balance of strength and flexibility … to create a better quality of life.
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga offers an opportunity to slow down, to pause and to create some harmony with the yang essence and pace of life. It allows us to tune into the present moment, to notice sensations and to acknowledge thoughts & emotions, while also assisting us to shift our relationship with these things.
The practice incorporates long-held, floor-based poses, that create a healthy stress to the connective tissue. This improves the flow of energy through the body and also improves the efficiency of internal organs & systems. It assists in relieving tension and encourages conscious breathing, mindfulness & relaxation.
Yin Yoga provides wonderful physical, mental, energetic & healing effects.
Yoga for kids & families
Yoga helps develop & maintain a healthy body & happy mind for the younger generation. And perhaps now more than ever before, we recognise the value of moving our bodies, allowing time for mental stillness and also maintaining a connection with other people.
Kids Yoga is the most powerful means for the increased mind-body connection and to build confidence, strength, balance & self-awareness … improving overall well-being.
Sessions are suitable for children age 4 and over. These group sessions focus on breathing exercises, interactive activities, a selection of yoga postures and time to practise stillness and mindfulness.
Enjoy exercise, breath & meditation made fun… kids learn through fun!
